Ellen Strange Memorial Walk

On Sunday July 16th 35 walkers took part in our annual Ellen Strange memorial walk up Holcombe Hill to remember Ellen and the 93 victims who lost their lives in the last 12 months as a result of Domestic abuse.

This year each victim was remembered by a beautiful crocheted ‘forget me not’ laid on the cairn as the names were read out.

Speakers included Jill our CEO , Martin McMulkin and Shana Begum a Domestic abuse survivor and Domestic Abuse Prevention Officer.

After the inspiring speeches the names of the 93 victims were read out in age order, the youngest victim was 19 and the eldest 92 and a wreath was placed on the Cairn.

A buffet was provided in Emmanual Church thanks to the generosity of Unite Union.

All the victims will be remembered again at our Candle Lit vigil at Bolton Parish Church on Friday 8th December 6pm where we will be joined by Bolton Rock choir.
